The Legacy Collection

The Legacy Collection is a curated archive of analogue photographic works available exclusively through rights managed licensing. Developed over four decades, it brings together a broad range of completed works produced through analogue photographic processes without digital post production.

Spanning still life, Vanitas, figurative, abstraction, environmental research and experimental practice, the archive documents an evolving investigation into photography as a material process. Each work records a physical event produced through the interaction of light, water and constructed conditions within the camera.

The Legacy Collection serves as both a licensing archive and a long term record of artistic research. Alongside completed works, it preserves the evolution of ideas, techniques and material investigations that continue to inform the wider practice and production of the Distil Ennui Studio™, founded in 1990.

All works are licensed on a rights managed basis, with every enquiry assessed individually according to context, territory, duration and intended use. This ensures that each licence remains appropriate to both the work itself and the nature of its publication.

Licensing directly supports the preservation, cataloguing and continued stewardship of the archive, together with the studio's wider programme of research, community and environmental initiatives, material innovation and internationally recognised artist residency programmes.
