Recycled Aluminium Seashell Drawer Pulls & Door Handles

Studio update: the recycled-aluminium seashell handle has now grown into a larger, more architectural object — and it finally exists as a left/right pair, designed for formal entrances, hospitality interiors, and cabinetry that deserves a focal point rather than a generic pull.

If you’re arriving here via search for seashell drawer pulls, coastal cabinet hardware, or nautilus shell door handles, you’re in the right place: this is a practical update with new scale, new photographs, and a clear route to the current product page.

View the current Seashell Handle product page here (we’ll be updating it to include the new larger size very soon).

The new larger size (and why it matters)

The original handle works beautifully as a cabinet or drawer pull — but at larger scale the form changes character. The spiral becomes less decorative and more architectural: a tactile crest that reads across a room, not just at arm’s length.

This new size was developed specifically for:

— Large formal doorways where a handle should feel intentional, not incidental.

— Restaurants, seafood spaces, and coastal hospitality interiors where material and story are part of the atmosphere.

— Statement cabinetry (bars, pantries, freestanding pieces) where a single detail can set the tone.

Two sizes side-by-side: the larger format shifts the object from ‘hardware’ into ‘presence’.

Three sizes, one language (small, medium, large)

What stays consistent across the range is the silhouette: a compact nautilus-like spiral with a clean “cut” at the mouth — designed to sit comfortably in the hand while maintaining a crisp profile on the door face.

Seen here are the 2 smaller original works before finishing: the spiral is established in the casting, then refined by hand .

Now available in three sizes (weights and dimensions are approximate):

— Small  40–50 g; approximately 38 × 56 × 38 mm.

— Large   95–105 g; approximately 50 × 75 × 43 mm.

— Oversize   350–520 g; approximately 82 × 116 × 70 mm (soon to be listed).

Left and right: a true pair for double doors

The handle now exists as a left and a right. Most shell hardware online is sold as a repeated unit; this mirrored pair allows a formal entrance to read as resolved.

From discarded drinks cans to door hardware (the process)

These pieces begin as recycled aluminium and end as a hand-finished object intended to live with you for years.

Care and maintenance

Aluminium is straightforward to live with. Use a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Avoid aggressive acids and abrasive pads.

I do hope you enjoy the work. Alexander
