Seashell drawer & door handle
#008000
This collection presents a series of tactile, hand-fabricated works that transform discarded materials into functional sculptural forms. Each embodies a narrative of renewal, uniting sculptural presence with a considered approach to sustainability and contemporary living.
Using aluminium recovered from landfill sites and coastal clean-up projects, the sand-casting process is the same as that developed for the ‘Makers Place’ single-use plastic & aluminium recycling studio, designed and built from the ground up in Noonu Atoll, Maldives, where it has remained operational since 2021. The process leaves a minimal carbon footprint, giving discarded material removed from rivers, oceans and landscapes a new life.
Every seashell handle is a unique casting, individually created from the artist’s original maquettes, ensuring no two are alike.
Available in three sizes.
Tide — w 40–50 gms h38 × w56 × d38 mm
Atoll — w 95–105 gms h50 × w75 × d43 mm
Nautilus — w 420–450 gms h82 × w116 × d70 mm
Each piece is supplied with a stainless steel fixing, washer and threaded bolt for installation. 50mm M5 for Tide & Atoll, 120mm M8 for Nautilus.
The larger Nautilus edition functions equally as sculptural hardware and as an architectural statement piece, available individually, left and right or mirrored pairs for formal double-door installations.
Dimensions may vary by approximately ±5% due to the hand-production process.
