Water in all its forms have long been a signature form used in the studio. Using aluminium saved from landfill sites or beach cleanup projects, the sand casting process is the same that I developed for the 'Makers Place' single use plastic & aluminium recycling studio that I designed & built from the ground up for Soneva in Noonu Atoll, Maldives. The process leaves a minimal carbon footprint, giving single-use waste a new life.
Every piece is a unique casting, individually created from the artist’s original maquette, ensuring no two are alike.
When two or more snowflakes are hung outside on a tree close together they make a wonderful wind chime. each piece is unique and therefore carries its own resonance, pitch and tone which changes with the temperature of the day.
