artist notes... What would the artist Auguste Rodin or indeed his model posing in 'The Thinker' be contemplating if it were made today, and not in its orginal 1902 form. The world has changed so dramatically since then, most notable the polluted oceans, rivers and land fill sites filled with single use packaging.

Fabricated in the exact same Carbon Neutral way as at the Makers Place recycling studio I setup in the Maldives.

artist notes... In this body of work I explore and develop a process that removes the pigment from the capillaries of flower petals, replacing the pigment with highly purified water leaving behind only the skeletal fibres and structural veins visible. I believe it takes more courage to paint a simple landscape or that of a flower than it does to hang a side of beef in a gallery in some PR spectacle. This act of bravery is evident by the presentation of such an instantly recognisable subject, and then to present it in an entirely new way. Originality is paramount even with something as instantly recognisable as a rose.
